Using Linked In to find an internship

If you have a Linked In account (and you should, for your professional life), you may be able to use that to find an internship.

I a member of the group #PR Intern/#Entry PR, on LinkedIn Account, which means I get updates on internships and entry level jobs in the public relations field.

Here's a recent listing:
A creative and forward-thinking public relations and new media firm seeks interns for the Fall 2009 semester to conduct media research, work on various client related projects, and aid in administrative tasks. We mean it—you won’t be faxing documents all day long. Ideal candidates will have an interest in public relations and is majoring in communications, public relations or a related discipline such as marketing. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, be tech savvy and have a knack for keeping up on the latest happenings in the news cycle. Research, interpersonal, verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to take a joke, are also required.

DBC is a PR agency with experience in consumer brands and technology. We’re fun and laid back—but we work hard and are looking for someone to keep up. Only candidates that provide a resume and cover letter will be reviewed. We are currently seeking candidates who can commit to at least two full days or three half days a week in our offices in Georgetown. The internship is unpaid. Please send an e-mail and put "Intern" in subject line to jobs@dbcpr.com. No phone calls please.
