Professor Sims sent along a job description from Congressional Quarterly, which is hiring. Do you have the skills to do this job?
CQ is seeking a creative reporter / researcher to provide detailed
data for graphics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in
researching (online, over the phone and by examining documents); a
love of numbers, along with the ability to recognize interesting
patterns and relevant trends; a knack for visualizing data as well
as generating original ideas for graphics; the ability to quickly
crunch numbers and create clean, accurate spreadsheets in Excel;
solid writing skills, with a talent for explaining dense data
concisely; good rapport with coworkers; and knowledge of, or a real
interest in, the legislative process. The job focuses on our print
products CQ Weekly and CQ Today and our web sites cq.com and
cqpolitics.com.
